Cusumano 2012 Saganà

Our featured wine for October is Cusumano 2012 Saganà from Scicily. The Cusumano winery is a family affair, with Francesco Cusumano working with his two sons on various family owned vineyards.

Saganà is a particularly Sicilian wine, made entirely from Nero d’Avola grapes, considered to be the most popular red wine grape of the region.

The winemaker describes Saganà as having:

“Aromas of mulberries, wet earth, and blackberry notes with a full body and velvety tannins.”

A bottle of Cusumano Saganà comes sealed with a unique glass stopper. The winemaker believes this keeps the wine treasure, and of course, offers various possibilities for re-use.
